Art is an important part of Hjørring's street scene. You don't need to go very far in the town before you meet the first eye-catching sculptures.

There is, for example, Claes Hake's "Ringen" at Springvandspladsen: A large bronze ring stands vertically not far from the granite basin around which the entire square is laid out.

At P. Nørkjærs Plads the artist Bjørn Nørgaard has put his unmistakable stamp on the entire square: An impressive fountain of ceramics, granite, metals and more.

Nørgaard's work describes the relationship between man and woman, human dualiity, Nordic mythology and Christianity.

At the old town hall a small family sits as a natural part of the street scene. The family is cast in bronze and was created by Hanne Varming in 1983.
